Hiring A Real Estate Agent

If you’re looking to move as soon as possible and move into your new dream home, the easiest way to do so is to hire a professional realtor. Someone who’s reputable has the right experience and knows how to showcase your place in the best light. In a competitive real estate market, the Salt Lake City movers feel someone with a good reputation can really make a difference in the selling of your home. A good realtor has great contacts, knows how to stage your home, knows how to price it right and does more than provide a for sale sign on your front lawn. Realtors typically work with other realtors as well so, they can reach more potential homebuyers. Also, working with a real estate agent means your home will also be featured online with listings, detailed descriptions, pictures, sometimes even virtual tours.

When you’ve sold your home and are ready to move into your next place, don’t forget to call the Salt Lake City moving specialists for professional moving services from a reputable moving company. All My Sons of Salt Lake City can also help with sturdy moving boxes, packing supplies and storage.

Moving With Friends… Good Idea?

If you’re like your Salt Lake City professional movers, your idea of a great weekend might be to spend it moving friends or family in need of relocation services! Realistically though, our common points of interest probably differ here if you don’t happen to be an avid veteran in the moving business. Regardless of your non-status in the moving world though, from time to time we all end up moving to new homes, and relocating your entire household just can’t be done properly without multiple bodies on the job!

Friends that are always there to lend a helping hand are great, but friends who have no problem burdening their pals with begging requests for moving assistance don’t often place a phone call that isn’t ignored! Sure, a free move is great, but at what cost? With no professional movers on the job, your property is at risk of being damaged. Furthermore; moving isn’t for everybody, and it is far from fun to spend a weekend working harder than you likely do at your job moving a friend to his or her new home for free; a moving weekend like this is likely to damage not only your personal property, but also your social life! So if you are moving, and you don’t want to lose any friends in the process, do the right thing and hire professional Salt Lake City movers who will get the job done right!

New Home Improvement

Are you moving in Salt Lake City to a new home? Much of the time the home is only new to the person taking occupancy. Moving into a previously-lived-in home, you will undoubtedly run into wear and tear around the house. If you have purchased this new home, odds are it is in pretty decent shape, but there is always room for improvement. I would like to offer some food-for-thought that will hopefully inspire those soon to move into a new-to-you home. A little bit of effort goes a long way, and may inspire you to start other home-improvement projects as well. Before your Salt Lake City mover arrives to deliver your furniture, consider the following simple improvements for your new home:

  • Doors and windows are an excellent starting point. Think about how often you open and close your doors and windows. Over time, these access points do succumb to wear and tear. Replacing the weather stripping along door and window frames is a smart and easy fix as this improves the appearance of your home, and the efficiency of your air conditioning and heating appliances. This should be pretty self explanatory and also very simple to do. As for any hinged doorways; over time a squeak is likely to develop as moisture can cause rust, and friction can cause an accumulation of tiny metal shavings inside the hinges. It is best to remove hinge pins so that the door can be removed and the hinge components cleaned out and lubricated. Any petroleum based lubricant such as WD-40 will work well. Take this opportunity to tighten the mounting hardware on each hinge as these become loose over time. Tightening the hinge screws should fix most stuck doors also. You may want to use sand paper to file down the top and/or sides of any doors which stick even after the hinges have been fixed. Also, survey each doorway in need of new door stoppers. Avoiding doorknob holes in your wall is one way to keep your new home nice!
  • Light switch and power outlet plate replacement is also a simple effective fix for your new home. If these plates are in need of replacement, you may even choose to upgrade all of them to a different style/color. There are many different styles of switch and outlet plates to choose from, you’ll surely find a style that grabs your attention. While you are in the process of removing your old plates, take this opportunity to insulate behind plates on the exterior walls of your home. Energy efficiency repairs are very advantageous and are often simple fixes.
  • The walls of your new home may be in need of some quick fixes. If the previous owners of your home hung pictures, there may be several nail holes in your walls. These are simple to repair, just apply a small wad of putty into each nail hole and smooth it out with a knife. A fresh coat of new paint doesn’t hurt either after your nail holes have been filled. If you notice pealing wallpaper, there is a much quicker fix than fully replacing it. Simply spread a liberal amount of paste on both sides of a note card or sheet of paper. Place the paper applicator between the wall and the wallpaper, and flatten the pealed wallpaper against the pasted paper so that the glue is applied evenly. Then slide the applicator back out from between the wall and wallpaper. Pat down the wallpaper one more time to make extra sure that the paste is well applied and then use a damp cloth to clean any excess paste that may have squeezed out from under the wallpaper.

There are plenty of simple inexpensive repairs you can perform on your new home. The better your new home looks, the more excited you’ll be about having your Salt Lake City movers finally deliver your furniture on your moving day. Be sure to hire a reputable Salt Lake City mover so that the walls floors and doors of your newly spruced up home remain in good shape.

Moving locally, long distance or cross country requires adequate preparation on the part of the individual or family making the move. The inital process involves the following:

  • Preparing a moving budget
  • Securing three to five moving quotes

Need to budget for your upcoming move?

If so, allow me to provide you with a few tips to help you adequately plan for your upcoming move in Salt Lake City. First, I recommend a short brainstorming session of anticipated moving costs. These costs should encompass all cost prior, during and after your move. Prior to your move you may encounter expenses for packing and possible carpet cleaning if renting and attempting to retain your deposit.

If hiring a moving company your moving cost will depend on the following:

Moving Mistakes

When you’re looking to move to a new place there are a few things you should do before you actually move out. First inform your landlord that you’re moving. If you forget, you’ll owe a month’s worth of rent, even if you don’t live there anymore. Go over the move out policy. The policy details information about how you should leave the place when you move out. A lack of adherence to the move out policy in any way goes against a full refund of your deposit. Another mistake is not being present for the final walk-through of the property. You need to be present so you can attest to the items cited. Finally, not hiring a professional moving company is also a big mistake. If you don’t employ a reliable and reputable local moving company, you’re in danger of being prey to a moving scam or risking your personal belongings being damaged. Working with professional Salt Lake City local movers is really the best and least stressful way to move.

What a bunch of professional movers!

I’m happy to have had the opportunity to work with the professional movers of All My Sons Moving of Salt Lake City. What a bunch of pleasant and reliable people who know how to work efficiently and professionally. They moved really fast but were very careful with all of my stuff.

I have expensive furniture that I’ve acquired throughout the years and didn’t want just anybody handling my personal belongings, especially my prized pool table. I love that thing. Every week, I get together with a few buddies who come over for drinks, a good conversation and a great game of pool. So when I decided to move to a new house, I wanted to make sure that the pool table would make it in one piece. The Salt Lake City local movers did a great job transferring it onto their moving truck and driving it back to my new place. They even helped me place it in the perfect spot. Of course, all of the other not so important stuff made it safely back to my new place as well…lol. My televisions, leather couch, office equipment; because I work from home and everything else made it unscratched or broken. Everything was in one piece and set up in the right rooms. It was great working with these Salt Lake City moving guys and I recommend to anyone.
